Recognizing that learning is a Greenville Technical College core value and that employee development is necessary for institutional strength and vitality, GTC will foster personal and professional development that supports the college’s mission. Employee development facilitates goal achievement, ensures a qualified and engaged workforce, and meets institutional imperatives.
All employees of Greenville Technical College must participate in professional development activities to enhance individual and organizational performance as determined jointly by the employee and immediate supervisor.
All employees must participate in professional development. Full-time faculty must adhere to the procedures as outlined in the Faculty and Academic Staff Manual as noted in the Related Documents section below.
The employee and immediate supervisor must develop a Professional Development Plan (PDP) to guide the Professional Development activities for the upcoming year. The PDP will be reviewed and updated annually during the employee evaluation process. (Reference Forms below.)
Failure to comply with/follow this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
